The University of Benin Trust Development Fund (UNIBEN TDF) is a strategic vehicle for sustainable growth and academic excellence.

About the Trust Fund

Incorporated in 2025, the UNIBEN Trust Development Fund was established to bridge the gap between academic needs and infrastructure. Inaugurated on February 16, 2026, by the Pro-Chancellor, Professor Shuaibu Umaru, the Fund serves as a catalyst for mobilizing resources from alumni and global partners.

To work with the University Management to identify infrastructure and academic needs of the University.

To forge partnerships with alumni, organizations, and friends of the University in order to mobilise resources for specic capital and academic projects in the University.

To support faculty development through sponsorship of research, training, and to encourage mentorship programmes across the faculties.

To sponsor scholarships, grants and provide welfare assistance to indigent students.

To recognise and reward academic excellence among staff and students.

To establish a model institution of higher learning which ranks among the best in the world and is responsive to the creative and innovative abilities of the Nigerian People.

To develop the human mind to be creative, innovative, research-oriented, competent in areas of specialization, knowledgeable in entrepreneurship and dedicated to service.
